The article contains a legal analysis of the concepts «animal husbandry», «environmental safety», «protection of the environment in agriculture», on the basis of which the concept and legal aspects of environmental safety in animal husbandry are derived. The problem of ensuring environmental safety in the field of agriculture is devoted to the scientific work of many domestic and foreign scientists. But despite this, the conceptual approach in the field of legal regulation of environmental safety in the field of agriculture is not sufficiently developed. As a result of the research, the following definition of this concept was developed: it is an integral component of environmental safety in agriculture and environmental safety in whole, an element of national security, as well as a state of development of public relations in which, using a system of organizational and legal measures prevents the deterioration of the environment in the implementation of activities in the field of animal husbandry, as well as the preservation and strengthening of the ecological interests of the individual, society and the state through the timely identification, prevention and neutralization of real and potential threats and environmental risks from the production of agricultural activities in the field of animal husbandry.
