Features of the legal providing for energy security of EU

Abstract

Ensuring energy security nawadays is a key factor in the development of any state’s economy and the impediment to the normal functioning of modern society. First and foremost, it concerns the energy importing countries, which are the Member States of the European Union. However, despite its status as an importer of energy resources, the EU has been able to implement a policy of energy security and by adopting a number of regulations, making it the first pillar of economic development in the world today. In the first place, energy security has been achieved through the introduction of diversification of natural resources and the encouragement to use alternative energy sources. Ukraine, as a predominantly importer of energy resources, needs to learn from the European Union’s experience in the field of energy security in order to implement them in its own legal field. In view of this relevance of the study of the features of the EU legal security of energy security for Ukraine is beyond doubt.
